Circuit Training
Use your natural surroundings to help with this circuit activity!
Try out the 4 exercises below, but do each activity at a different tree!
Once you’ve done one, run to the next tree to do the next exercise.
Once you’ve done all 4, run back to the start and do the circuit once more!
Let’s begin!
Exercise 1 – Star jumps
- As you jump, split your arms and legs to each side.
- Try this 10 times.
Exercise 2 – Wall sit
- Try out this wall sit exercise using a tree!
- Bend down as if you were doing a squat, but with your back against the tree.
- Try holding for 30 seconds!
Exercise 3 – Shuttle run
- Start with your back to one tree.
- Run forwards to the next tree, touch it with your hand, then run backwards to your starting tree.
- Try this 5 times in total!
Exercise 4 – One leg side hops
- Start standing next to the tree.
- Take 3 jumps away from the tree using one leg, then take 3 jumps back to the tree using the other leg.
- Try doing this 5 full times!
For an extra challenge – see who can complete the circuit the fastest!

FUN FACT
Gymnastics
Did you know, there are two gymnastics disciplines: Artistic and Rhythmic. In artistic gymnastics, men and women compete on different apparatus (like floor and vault), but in rhythmic gymnastics, only women compete and they use handheld apparatus, like ribbons and balls.
